Parent Responsibilities Bedding Parents should supply fresh, clean bedding every Monday, and should take home the soiled bedding every Friday for laundering. Each student should have a named sheet, a named cover or blanket, a named pillow and named pillow-case and a named cloth bag for storing and carrying the bedding. The School supplies a sleeping mat for each child. Communications Book Every student has a Communications Book which acts as a medium of quick and easy communication between the School and the parent, and between the parent and the teacher. Parents are asked to :
Clothing Parents are asked to ensure that their child is wearing the appropriate uniform at all times. (see below) In addition, each student should have a large man’s business shirt, for use as a painting smock, and parents are asked to provide this at the beginning of the school year. This shirt is unlikely to be wearable again, and will probably require replacement from time to time. Each student should also have a set of emergency clothes which should be placed in a cloth bag and given to the child’s teacher. In the event of an “accident”, the clothes that the student had been wearing will be sent home with the student; parents will be asked immediately to replace them. Incidentally, these clothes and the bag should all be named. Meals Parents who drop off their child(ren) before 8.00am are asked to send a packed breakfast with their child. This can not be anything that requires heating or serving as the School does not possess kitchen facilities. Parents are also asked to send a packed lunch with their child; if this requires refrigeration parents should advise their child’s teacher through the Communications Book. This packed lunch can not be anything that requires heating or serving as the School does not possess kitchen facilities. Students who stay at school beyond 4.00pm will be served a snack (see below), however parents are reminded that this is not a meal and their children will undoubtedly be ravenous when they reach home. School Supplies Supplies such as pencils and crayons are provided by IST. Should a student wish to bring his/her own supplies, they should be clearly identified with the child’s name and in an appropriate container such as a pencil case. Snacks The snack menu is published in advance (click here). Parents who do not want their child(ren) to eat a particular snack should send an alternative snack with their child, and they should also advise their child’s teacher through the Communications Book. The School is obligated to serve a snack to any child who has not brought one. Uniform IST Pre-School students are expected to wear the appropriate uniform at all times :
The IST uniform items are available from the School Office and parents are encouraged to have several sets. Parents are reminded to put their child’s name on all items. |
